Maharashtra Political Crisis News Live Updates: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari asks Maharashtra Legislature Secretary to hold floor test of Uddhav Thackeray-led government at 11 am on Thursday.

Rebel Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said he and the MLAs with him will arrive in Mumbai for a floor test on Thursday. Since over a week, he has been in Assam’s Guwahati along with rebel Shiv Sena and Independent MLAs and announced launching a new faction of the party which remains loyal to Balasaheb Thackeray and Anand Dighe’s ideologies. Shinde, who stepped out of the luxury hotel in Guwahati, the rebel group’s home for the last week, said he had offered prayers at Guwahati’s Kamakhya temple for peace and prosperity of people of Maharashtra.

Amid escalating political crisis in Maharashtra, former Chief Minister and BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis met Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan on Tuesday, asking him to call for a floor test in the Assembly as the Thackeray-led government had lost majority after the Shinde group’s rebellion.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday appealed to the rebel MLAs to come for talks. “Don’t fall prey to anyone’s missteps. The honour given to you by Shiv Sena cannot be found anywhere. If you come forward and speak, we will sort out the issues. As Shiv Sena party chief and family head, I am still worried about you. Come here for a dialogue,” he said.
